Japan was selected as the host country for the 20th World Kendo Championships (20WKC) in 2027 at the General Assembly of the International Kendo Federation (FIK) held at the Royal Garden Hotel (Milan, Italy) on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

Dates: Thursday, May 27 through Sunday to May 30, 2027,
Location: Tokyo (venue TBD)
